So, this morning I was telling Jack that it looks like some of his freckles were growing and getting bigger. He couldn't believe it. So, he asked me to take a pic of it so he could show everyone. I can't believe how many more freckles it looks like he has now compared with September. Below is last year's pic of the freckles. Do you think there are more freckles now???

So, they say Spring has begun, but I am not so sure about that. Nor are the kids. They keep saying our teachers tell us it is Spring. HA!
We did have some great weather last week and over the weekend. Jack was able to pull out his automatic baseball pitcher and bases, from Nama and Papa and get a little game going.
And thankfully it melted a good portion of our snow. But, as you can see in these pics we still have the Pontow Mountain as we are referring to it. I have chipped away at this mound, but it is a stubborn one. The kids will be in swimsuits in June and still have snow in their front yard. LOL! :)
Of course another sign of spring is the rain. Yeah I would have thought Noah's Ark was coming thru today with the amount of rain we got. But, it is great for the flowers and all the Preen I put down over the weekend to kill the weeds before they come. And it has produced the Pontow River in our backyard. Good times!
Thankfully, the rain stopped late this afternoon so the kids were able to go out and play before going to swim lessons. And of course I had to get some pics of them playing. I was freezing outside for the few minutes I was out there with them. So, I don't know how they stay out there for so long. :) It seems they are definitely getting used to it.

The O'Pontow's just wanted to wish everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day from our leprechauns to yours!
We were visited by those mischievous leprechauns who pee'd in all of our toilets turning the water green and then made our milk magically delicious. It turns green once it is poured into a cup. How in the world does it do that..... Next year we will be building a trap for the leprechauns. We are going to get them one of these years!

Well, last night we had a St. Patty's party in our neighborhood. Oh boy was that a good time!!! It was great seeing everyone come out in their green attire! And we had green beer on hand in true Chicago style. :)
We had Nate doing the slip jig he had learned yesterday on youtube. It was quite impressive. He definitely had the Michael Flatley moves going on. I broke out and did a little Irish Jig as well. Which was a good time. Of course there was "normal" dancing too. Lots of laughter and great talks!
We had some funny T-shirts worn "Rub me for Luck" and "Born lucky". Lots of good food from Green Deviled Eggs to Green Pepper dip, to Lil Smokies. Aside from the Green Beer we had Jello Shots in 4 different types and a yummy Lime slush. Those were mighty good too! Of course we had some more traditional Irish drinks (Cider and Guinness) on hand as well.
It was a really great time and I am glad we got to do it!!! Thanks Neighbors for a great time! You guys are the best!!

Yesterday I took Ally for her 2 year pictures. Now that we have gotten our feet wet with the Appleton area I found a GREAT photographer up here. Aaron and Melissa have a friend that does photography, so we gave her a shot with our spitfire. God bless her because Ally was at times not too cooperative.
Her name is Jennifer Tabbert. Click here to see her website. She is a mom who does this for fun. And what a great job she does. She sent me a few pics of Ally to show me what she was able to get. I can't believe it because they are just awesome! I can't wait to see the rest of them.
We had a lot of clothing changes which I loved that she did not mind that. I always try to bring a few different outfits. And then she had these AWESOME tutu's that Ally was excited about wearing. Until it was time to take pictures in them.
Ally is definitely the clown in the family. I think they all have a little bit of it, but as Jenny said it looks like she takes after her Uncle Aaron. OH BOY!!! So, I will have to talk to Jean about what to do about that! Of course that was at the beginning of the shoot. Then she got a little shy and wasn't sure about anymore pics. But, we got thru it. I did not think it was going to go well because she was screaming when I got her dressed in the t-shirt and jeans outfit. She did not want to wear that. God help me! Then she calmed down and got upset again when we dropped Jack and Meg off with Aunt Stacy. Luckily we had a 10 minute drive so she worked thru it.

Today marks Ally's 2nd birthday. I still can't believe she is 2 years old already. She is very excited about her birthday this year and loves all the clothes and baby dolls she got from Nama and Papa, Grandma and Grandpa, The Hietpas family and The Backes family. We are sure that this year will be another action packed non-stop go time for Ally. But, at least she still loves to snuggle with her mom and dad. She is very good at saying No and Stop. So, watch out because she means business! And she is following in her sister's footsteps with the love for dresses. OY VEY!
Tomorrow she is going to get her 2 year pictures done. So, be on the look out for the Pontow Newsletter soon.
