Combined Locks, WI Here we come...

Hello to all! Well we have found a house up in the Fox Cities area. It is in Combined Locks which is right there with Appleton. The people who own the house were relocated to Seattle so looking to get out of the house. We put our offer in (of course low balling them because everyone does it :) ) and found out that the Relocation company had just bought them out of the house and accepted our low ball offer. We are very excited. Click here to see pictures of the house. It is only 4 years old and painted just like I would paint my house. So, there won't be too much to do.

The kid are so excited about the house. Meggan was probably the happiest out of everyone. Because the girls room is pink. When she saw the room she did a loud gasp and started dancing around the room. And Jack's room is blue. Of course when he saw the house he said he did not like that it is blue on the outside. But, he seems to have gotten past that. There is a spare bedroom upstairs that is white and when the kids walked into that room they said this is for Nama and Papa isn't it? And we said yes it would be. We have lots of plans for the house. We will finish the basement and put a family room, bedroom, storage and bathroom down there. So, we can have lots of company and sleepovers. Everyone is welcome anytime! The door will always be open. Okay maybe not unlocked because I don't think I could ever get in that habit, but just ring the doorbell. :)

Anyway, we are very excited and feel like this was meant to be. Lots of kids in the neighborhood, St. Paul's Catholic Church around the corner and the Kimberly High School is walking distance from the house. You can actually see it from the upstairs bedrooms.

Take care and love to all!!

Bad Hair Day

You know my kids tend have pretty wild hair that really does whatever it wants. Most days when it is wild I say to people well their hair says a lot about their personalities for the day. Here is an example of one Ally's "bad hair days". I took this tonight as she got ready for bed and got cleaned up. Okay, so it was not like this all day, she actually had a ponytail in her hair all day (THANK YOU ERIKA!!) and this is what it looks like when we take the ponytail out.

Now the funny part is that most likely when she gets up in the morning her hair will look identical to this picture and we will have to wet it down or if we are in a rush she goes like that. All I can say is that she can thank her Dad for those lovely genes.

Happy Memorial Day!

It may still be May but today it felt like July here in Lake Zurich. Was a beautiful day to be outside celebrating those that have fought for our country. We thank all of those that we know that have served in the military to keep our country safe and protected. Special thanks to Papa, Grandpa Tim and Uncle Aaron.

Thank God it is Almost Friday

It has been quite a week here in the Pontow house. Jack has been home all week because of his surgery. He has spurts of energy and then all of a sudden is exhausted and pretty cranky. But, we will get through it. Of course Daddy has been up in Appleton working this week, so I have enjoyed all of the whining. NOT!

On top of that all 3 kids have a delightful cough, Meg and Ally have pink eye and Ally has an ear infection. Do you think God is testing me?????? And now I have the same cough as the kids. Perfect!

I saw my Orthopaedic Doctor on Tuesday and they have scheduled me for surgery. It will be on Wednesday, 6/11. I will be in a sling for 4 weeks and then Dr. Chams believes that within 4 months I will be back to normal. I am nervous, but am ready to get this over with and I think I can see an end in sight with my pain in my shoulder. He also is wondering if I have a slight tear with my rotator cuff that would not have shown on the MRI I had done. So, while he is in there he is going to take a look at that too. Get all done Doc is what I say.

Congrats to my niece Erin who is graduating from Preschool this week. Below is a picture of her getting ready for Irish Dancing.

We are counting down the hours until Daddy comes home. That is for sure. Have a great rest of the week!!!

Kick It!

Well Soccer season has really begun for Jack and Meggan. After many many cancellations and then one game in the rain. We finally have good weather. So, last week Jack and Meggan seemed to really start to get into. Jack scored a goal and did quite a little dance after he got the goal. Not sure if this will be his trademark with sports, but we will see. Meggan played goalie for a little bit, but preferred to dance instead. Meggan is the only girl on her team. I think I am having flashbacks. She preferred to hang out with Nama and Papa who came to watch the game. Below are some pics of the kids playing. Unfortunately Jack does not get to play this week, but Meggan went with Daddy so that should be interesting.

Hey Hey Goodbye

The surgery is over and we are finally home. Jack is out of it and has a pretty bad sore throat. Not quite eating things yet because he is too out of it but we are home. Glad to be here. Now he can sit back and relax. He is already not snoring and a much quieter sleeper. The doctor said everything went well, so we are happy. Meggan is now saying she has a sore throat, but we know it is all because she wants ice cream and popsicles too. What can I say. She is a middle child that does not want to be forgotten.

Lucky Jack has a bell to ring if he needs anything. He got that from Nama's house last night. So, he will ring it when he needs us, so he doesn't have to talk. In a couple days when he is feeling more up to it we will take a picture to see how different his throat looks. Thanks again for all the prayers and well wish.

Say Goodbye to being sick..

Well, here I sit waiting for the kids to wake up. Today is Jack's big day. The day when he will finally be able to swallow and breathe without having issues. Tonsils and Adenoids are coming out. WOO HOOO!!! He seems to be doing okay with having this surgery. Initially when we told him about it he said no he wanted to keep his tonsils and adenoids (or as Jack says it Oynoys). But, he has finally come around. We are very nervous but relieved he is having it done. Nervous because you just don't know how he will react to being put under. I have said a lot of prayers and appreciate all of our friends and families that are praying for Jack today. We will keep everyone posted on how it goes. For old time sake let's remember what his tonsils look like right now. :(

Moving on up...

Well it is official we have sold our house and will be moving up to the Fox Cities (Appleton area) in Wisconsin. We are very excited, but very sad to be leaving all of the McDermott family. It will be extremely hard to be away from my family, but we will be down very often to visit which the kids are very excited about.

Our house sold in less than 3 weeks, so we were very lucky it went that fast. We had our inspections and appraisals this week. And are just waiting for the results of those to know if we are all set. The closing is set for June 25th. So, keep your fingers crossed that all goes smoothly.

We will be sure to keep everyone posted on how things go and will be updating the Blog more often once we have moved. Be on the look out for pictures of the kids playing soccer. Oh what a trip that is for Meggan and Jack. :)
