Sisterly Love on Valentine's Day

Here we sit enjoying another Valentine's Day in the Pontow house. It reminds me back to when Chad and I went to Cancun and he proposed to me on Valentine's Day on the beach at night. I felt so sick and the poor guy was soo nervous. Hard to believe that was 8 years ago and look at what where we have gone. In the word of my brother, Jim, GOOD TIMES!

This year the girls were extra festive with their matching outfits. Now those of you that know me know I don't match my girls very often. It has to be a pretty cute outfit for me to do it. :) So, here you go an outfit that I knew would melt their Daddy's heart.

And poor Jack came home from school early because he was pretty sick. So, here is his Valentine's picture. Looks like we will be having a cuddle night to get him better. But I will tell you that last night when he was picking out his clothes I said you should wear red on Valentine's Day because that is the color of love. So, Jack proceeded to pick out his red shirt from Nama, Red pants, underwear with red in it and red socks. Now mind you all of the reds were different shades of red. Oh what a day!!! But, he did it all himself and that is what matters most. Okay, he is now calling me to come lay with him. So, there you go he knows how to melt his Momma's heart.

It is a Sad Day When the Birthday Season Ends...

And we are not very happy about it. This year I explained to Jack the concept of birthday seasons. My mom and her old boss and dear friend, Ann Solari-Twadell, taught me about birthday seasons. Your birthday is not just 1 day it is a season that can carry on for weeks. It is really a wonderful thing. And since it is a celebration of your "youth" why not celebrate as long as you want!!
So, when I explained to Jack that his birthday season began on 2/2/08 when he had his birthday party with his friends he was thrilled. I then explained the birthday season continues on until your last party. So, here we sit the end of the birthday season. Jack was very puzzled and confused by this whole concept. But, he definitely got the hang of it referring to every day as being his birthday for the entire period. God bless him and may we all always be as "young" (at heart) as my sweet little red head.

We survived....

Well, yesterday we had Jack's very 1st kid party. All I can say is PHEWWWWW!! We all really had a ball at Pump it Up. They put on a great party that is for sure! And I think the adults were just as a tired as the kids from jumping in all of the contraptions. I would highly recommend this to people that are looking for something to do with 4 year olds.

We really only had 2 meltdowns and it was due to hunger and exhaustion. :) Not too shabby! Well if you look to the right you will see I have a slideshow going of the pictures.

I have to say my parents, Jim (Big J or Papa) and Rusty (Nama), were jumping and sliding more than Chad and I. So KUDOS to them!! This is probably one of my favorite pics from the whole night.

Ally's 1st Hair Cut

I know this is going to sound crazy, but at the beginning of January Ally had her 1st hair cut. She has pretty wild hair and her bangs were getting in her eyes, so we went ahead with getting a cut done. She was definintely the least happy of the 3 kids on their 1st haircut. A bit surprising given that she is the happiest baby out of the 3. Anyway, here are a couple pics from the outing. The little hand you see assisting is of course Ally's big sister, Meggan.

Snow Snow Snow

Well, the kids are very excited with the snow we received on Thursday night into Friday morning. They were very disappointed that they could not spend the day playing in it. But, they sure had a ball with it when they got home from school and daycare. Here are some more pics of the kids palying in the snow. Enjoy!!

See how happy Meggan is in the snow. This did not last very long for the little princess. Jack threw a snowball at her and that did her in. :)

Jack was very busy making snowballs and throwing them at anyone he could. Meggan and Jack were even throwing snowballs at Ally who was inside feeling like a caged in monkey. Poor little girl.
